While Thanksgiving may be one of the most anticipated holidays of the year, it often leaves us with a few less-than-savory side effects. We’re talking lethargy, fatigue, a little bloatedness, and brain fog to last for days. Because while feasting to our heart’s content in the name of family and gratitude is no doubt delightful, our bodies aren’t used to that heightened level of dining on the daily. Not to mention, there’s the stress of hosting, cooking, cleaning, and so much more.

If you’re feeling a bit burnt out post-turkey day, you’re not alone! Follow along for our guide of quick Thanksgiving Recovery tips to bounce back in no time.

Take Time to Unwind

Chances are you encountered some holiday stress. The best way to combat it is to take a few beats for yourself. You don’t need to dedicate an entire day or even more than a few hours to recharge. By simply taking a long, hot soak (Bath Melts, anyone?) or decompressing with a little power nap, rewarding yourself with small acts of self-care will go a long way.

Eat Clean

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to cheat a little. After all, who can say no to a second serving of chocolate pecan pie? (Certainly not us!) However, an overload of sugar and processed foods can leave us feeling sluggish and less-than-sparkling. So instead of immediately heading for the leftovers, make a commitment to eat clean. Whip out your veggies, choose chia seeds over chips, drink tons of water, and just plain eat right.

Pro tip: if you’re still feeling groggy, Updrops might be able to lift the mental fog for you.

Get on Your Feet

Simple advice is the best advice. So we’ll give it to you straight: MOVE! Get up. Go for a walk. Do yoga, or even a few jumping jacks. Whatever it is that gets your heart rate up and your blood pumping, make a concerted effort to do it, even for a short time. Though exercise is often something we avoid, it is a superb way to help us recover from any food coma and reset out system.

If you're experiencing any aches that may be holding you back, send 'em packing with a little help from Reliefness. Your muscles will thank you later.
